evidence

For the record, just thought I would post some links here to studies showing evidence that natural methods can help with shrinking fibroids:

1. Study on combo of Chinese herbs, acupuncture, and other interventions
http://www.healing-arts.org/mehl-madrona/mmfibroids.htm
2. Study using Chinese herbs

3. Another study using Chinese herbs

If any readers know of any others, please do share!

You have a helpful, infromative blog! It's nice to see someone else on the same page and showing evidence. I have have been doing like things and enjoy preventions/cures from Paul Pitchford's book, "Healing with Whole Foods."

Is there any information on fibroid shrinkage during pregnancy? I was scheduled for a hysteroscopic myomectomy Monday, and found out yesterday that I am pregnant again (had miscarriage in Feb. due to fibroid). Need any recommondations you may have!!

Trying to shrink your fibroids while pregnant is not easy because many of the main fibroid shrinking methods are contraindicated during pregnancy (including 2 weeks after ovulation/intercourse when you may be pregnant but don't know for sure).

1. Chinese herbs that are "blood breakers" are contraindicated
2. Castor oil packs are contraindicated
3. Enzymes such as serrapeptase, nattokinase, etc. including Fibrovan, Vitalzym etc. are contraindicated
4. Strong detox herbs, and doing any kind of detox, are contraindicated
5. Tumeric is contraindicated.
6. Vitex or other things that work on your hormone level would be contraindicated

That doesn't leave you with much. Also you can ask your practiioner if there are any Chinese herbs that would be helpful and that you could take while pregnant. Homeopathy is also supposed to be safe if you are pregnant so I would ask a practioner about that.
I have also read that red raspberry leaf, burdock, and dandelion are ok during pregnancy but then again these may not be enough to shrink fibroids.

My gyn says that some women have trouble-free pregnancies even with fibroids. So that holds out hope.

Good luck! And if you find any other info further than above, please do share.

Right now I am TTC so I am doing my fibroid shrinking remedies only last 2 days of cycle.

I am a temporary fibroids bearer from Slovenia and am 31 years old. I read your blog regularly and am very supportive of your good-natured and sensitive attitude, as well as thankful for useful information provided.
I have taken the impulse to take belly dance classes from this site, and now I am enjoying it indescribable.
This illness has been a very great friend of mine, it teaches me about my womanhood, about many vibrating correlations, about my body, my beautiful uterus and my very essence.
I have changed my biorhythmic and nutritional style completely, and fortunately, I can get very good quality food and water here. I do yoga for at least an hour every day and it is a great experience. I have not been as lucky with finding the right professional to work with me, so I am learning from the internet, books and my body.
I try to take as much nutrition and herbs which help reduce fibroids as possible, I try to gather them myself. I also think, processed foods or supplements cannot replace the natural and fresh ones and I try to discover remedies which are endemic for the region where I live(or are at least grown here), since my organism is used to this particular environment.
I would like to share pages that I found with you and all the readers:

Thanks so much for your note. Love your description of yourself as a "temporary fibroids bearer"!
I really like your approach of looking positively about what you can learn from having fibroids. Indeed, I look at the fibroids as a kind of wake-up call, and things I am learning about health and taking care of myself as a result will help my health immensely even after I get rid of them. They must be serving some purpose. I remember hearing a quote, that God will give you a tap on the shoulder (minor health problem) and if you don't pay attention to it then you will get something a lot stronger (major health problem). The fibroids are not minor but are better than a stroke or something!
It sounds like you are doing a lot of great things and your emphasis on things local is really interesting to me, it makes sense! And am so glad you are enjoying the belly dancing!
Good luck with your fibroid shrinking, and thanks much for the warm wishes and for sharing the great links!
