raspberry tea not good after all?

When I asked my acupuncturist what herbal teas I could drink, he suggested red raspberry leaf, which tones and strengthens the uterus. I've been drinking a bit off an on since (since I drink the herbs he gave me three times a day in a mug of hot water along with the blackstrap molasses, I don't have appetite for that much more liquid!).

I was going to post it here, but when I went to find information about it I ran across this post and several like it, which say that red raspberry leaf can be estrogenic so it's not recommended for those with fibroids.

Just more proof that even with a fabulous doctor, they might not know everything, and it's important to do your own research!

How fascinating, thanks for sharing this. I had never heard of catechins as being helpful for fibroids. I peeked on the web though and found this study which showed efficacy in Japanese quail (which have fibroids similar to humans and thus are often used for tests) Why doesn't someone do more studies like this in humans?

P.S. There is also evidence that green tea may help fertility http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/greentea.html

Either way there is no actual proof that it works or does not work even in healthy women. You will always find contradicting blogs/sites for everything. If you monitor your fibroid growth while on a herbal treatment program, is a more effective way to know the result on YOUR body. I get a ultrasound ever 3 months will using herbs to monitor any growth or shrinkage. There are very limited scientific studies on fibroid shrinking methods and the ones available are too small of a test study to be reliable. What works for one woman can have a positive, negative, or no effect for. currently I am drinking the red raspberry tea, milk thistle, vitex, spirulina, daily castor oil packs, and am researching serrapeptase. I've also adopted a vegan lifestyle and am using the P90X and Insanity videos to lose weight as I am 40LBS overweight unfortunatly. I'm due for another ultrasound in july 2013 so i'm praying for a reduction. I have one 2cm submucosal fibroid, 2 submerosal fibroids and a lot of little intermural fibroids. I'm hoping to shrink the submucosal fibroid as this is the only one that may have an effect on getting pregnant. If in July when I get the ultrasound if there is any growth then I may discontinue the red raspberry and milk thistle.

2 months ago I followed a plan to significantly shrink fibroids and it works as long as you stick with the Programe. Fibroids Miracle by Amanda Leto. Lost 5 and half inches on my waist line. Will be heading for ultra sound soon to get before and after and see exactly how much the fibroids have shrunk.
