the top ten "must do" natural remedies for fibroid shrinking

Responding to a reader question, here are my thoughts on the top ten "must do" natural remedies for fibroid shrinking:
  1. Abdominal massage -- Mayan Massage or Chi Nei Tsang (personally I prefer the latter)
  2. Exercise -- especially yoga, belly dancing, hula hoop, pilates. And also plenty of cardio.  Chi Gong is great too, as is pretty much any kind of dancing as long as it gets you moving your hips.
  3. Get rid of xenoestrogens -- avoid plastic, register receipts, health & beauty products and cleaning products containing non-natural ingredients
  4. Clean up your diet -- more vegetables, more alkaline, cut out dairy and soy, cut our wheat, all meats need to be hormone-free, eggs should be pastured.  Eat plenty of fish but avoid the ones that are high in mercury. Avoid processed foods and especially canned foods.  Add fermented foods (live sauerkraut and kimchee) to your diet.
  5. Detox -- do a detox program with diet and herbs, also use sauna, hot baths, mud baths, ionic foot bath, dry skin brushing.  Use hot packs with castor oil packs on your stomach too.
  6. Acupuncture, supplemented with acupressure and moxa yourself at home
  7. Energy work -- reiki or Healing Touch or Body Talk or similar.  Reflexology is nice too.
  8. Emotions -- work on releasing negative emotions you are storing within you.  Whatever modality works for you, personally I find that EFT works the best for me.
  9. Herbs -- Chinese herbs or Ayurveda or western herbs or homeopathy or a combination of the above, AS PRESCRIBED BY A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL
  10. Supplements -- depending on your situation, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, fish oil, etc., AS PRESCRIBED BY A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL

Thanks so much for all the useful information on this blog! I appreciate how clear and to the point it is. I was diagnosed with fibroids and adenomyosis a month ago, and it's been a little overwhelming to trawl through all the information and try to decide how to treat them. For now I'm going with holistic treatment rather than embolization, but I'm a bit nervous about taking all the many supplements recommended by the holistic practitioner I saw yesterday. (FYI he is the doc who wrote Healing Fibroids Naturally -- would be interested to know if you've heard from anyone else treated by him.) I look forward to reading more on your blog, and again thanks for all the great info.

Hello Anonymous
So glad you are enjoying the blog.
Wow, I have not ever been in contact with anyone who actually went to the doctor who wrote Healing Fibroids Naturally. Do let us know how it goes. As for supplements, basically you are going to have to take a lot of them if you want to shrink the natural way! (curious, what did he give you?)

He gave me Omega 3, Chaste Tree, Myomin, Green Tea 600, Curcuplex CR and Fibropause 2 enzymes. (Interested in your comments on any of the above.) Also he recommended OptiCleanse GHI 28-day cleanse, which I plan to start next week. I've also ordered castor oil packs and plan to buy some blackstrap molasses today, having read about these on your blog and elsewhere. So far I've had really good results from a vegan diet, increased exercise and some relaxation techniques. BUT worrying about the credentials of the person treating me is causing stress! I found some negative comments about this practitioner online. FS, wondering if you have consulted "experts" or have put together your own healing program? (Best of luck in your journey, by the way.) I was reassured to see you liked the Fibroids Miracle book. I was thinking of purchasing that, but was put off by the infomercial-style marketing. I'm prepared to do a lot of research myself but wish I could also find an expert I trust, since there's so much contradictory advice out there... one page says to take milk thistle extract, the next page says ON NO ACCOUNT take milk thistle, etc. So confusing!

Hi Anonymous
Thanks so much for sharing. That sounds to me like a pretty good combination of supplements he has given you. One thing that you might want to add is Vitamin D -- shown recently in rats to shrink fibroids, and good for you in various ways anyway.
I have seen various people to help me but to be honest some of them, especially the ones I saw initially, were not very good at all. If someone had put me on the set of things you are taking early on, it would have been good.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be one expert who has a simple formula. The Fibroid Miracle focuses on detoxification, I think it has a good approach but it does give a laundry list of so many supplements nobody could do all of them, so I look at it as a place to get ideas. Also, I think that each person is different, and what works for some does not seem to help others, which makes it more complicated. Wishing you luck and please update us with how it goes!

The Dr that Anonymous is referring to is Allen Warshowsky in Rye NY. I was referred to him via Dr Ron Hoffman. He is an MD, an OB/GYN with many years of conventional practice under his belt. I went to him with pain, heavy bleeding, 3 separate intramural fibroids that were the equivalent of a 21 week pregnancy, and ovarian cysts. The cysts were multiplying, and the fibroids were growing rapidly. My regular OB had recommended a complete hysterectomy, ovaries, cervix, uterus, tubes, everything. . . followed by hormone therapy. He said nothing else would work. Dr Warshowsky put me on a similar program as Anonymous, which I followed to the letter for 4 months. My fibroids reduced 20%, and my ovarian cysts disappeared. I went down 2 dress sizes without losing weight and I feel fantastic. Just yesterday I got a handwritten note from him inquiring about me, with an additional suggestion based upon a recent blood test. The man knows his business. He saved my reproductive system, my sex life, and took several years off my appearance in the process.

Hello Nancy from NJ,
So excited to hear your positive experience, and congrats on the fibroid shrinking! Appreciate your sharing as it gives all of us hope.
Out of curiosity, what was the size in CM of your fibroids when you got started? 21 weeks sounds pretty big...
Also curious, were his original recommendations to you based on blood test results, or did they seem to be a "standard" program that he puts everyone on?

Hi again, I forgot all about this. It's 6 months later, and my fibroids are reduced by 1/2. The ovarian cysts have disappeared, and the endometrium has thinned out to a more normal thickness. I have had no bleeding or pain, and my hormones have adjusted themselves to where a woman my age should be. I get blood tests and ultrasound every 3 months to monitor my progress, and the supplements are adjusted according to the results. My program now is quite different from when I started. The diets from one person to another will also be different, because I have sensitivities to foods that others have no trouble with, and I'm sure others have sensitivities that I can tolerate just fine. I read the "Fibroids Miracle" book first, and found it to be rather sophomoric and scattered in it's approach. I was also put off by multiple typos and grammatical mistakes, which though they might not have anything to do with fibroids, do point to a certain ignorance, or at the very least lack of attention to detail on the part of the author. Fortunately I kept reading til I got to Dr Warshowsky's book, which I found to be do-able, and made far more sense. I might also add that I completely stopped using any plastics for food storage, no non-stick pans, and I threw out all personal care items with parabens or phalates in them. I don't eat anything with dairy, soy or gluten either to cut down exposure to phyto-estrogens and inflammation, I drink alkaline water, installed a reverse osmosis water filter for cooking water, and I eat about 99% organic food. I highly recommend Dr Warshowsky's program, and if you are lucky enough to live close enough to see him personally, that's ideal. He does see patients from all over the world, though not as often, and they send their lab results to him and talk to him on the phone for consultations. Good luck to everyone on this blog in getting their health back and avoiding invasive surgery and hormones. Don't make excuses. . . take the bull by the horns and take your health in your own hands.

Hi Nancy,
So great to hear of your success! That's fabulous. Sounds like a terrific program.
I do hear you on the typos etc in Fibroid Miracle. Like so many of the self-published things out there today, would have benefitted from a good editor.
It's great that Dr. Warshowsky's approach worked for you, it's certainly easier and more common for doctors to work with remote patients now than before.
Thanks so much for sharing as your success gives all the readers of this blog hope!

I wish I could afford all of those supplements. I am 30, had a child at 25, and when I was pregnant is when I discovered that I had a fibroid. Did not interfere w/ my pregnancy though. I just recently started going to a chiropractor and when I saw my xrays, I just cried. I'm trying really hard to not be depressed about all these years spent not properly taking care of my body, but I'm starting now. It's hard not to cry as i type this but I'm staying positive. :) Thank you for all the information. I'm going to start out with the castor oil treatment. Are there one or two herbs that you would suggest I do with this as well? I'm scraping to afford the chiropractor, but it's worth it. Thank you :)

Hi- I also go to Dr. W for my fibroids. I started in March 2013 and the fibroids are "trending in the right direction" and my uterus has also shrunk. When I first went, my anemia was so bad I almost had to have a blood transfusion (I am eternally thankful I left my "regular" ob/gyn who said I would have to suffer until menopause, and did nothing about my heavy bleeding). Dr. W did put me on the same supplements as above, but with additions. The first visit is 3 hours long, so all his suggestions are based on that plus the blood tests and other tests. He is very thorough. Besides the supplements, he has given me a prescription pill for the heavy bleeding and herbal tinctures.
I also took an herbal intensive course with Susun Weed, the internationally known herbalist who has written several books on women's health. She agreed with Dr. W on the tinctures, and went further to say Shephards Purse can be taken directly to stop extra long periods (mine had lasted 2-3 weeks. Susun calls this "the floods", which is sure seemed to be! They are now back to normal).

I also practice reiki daily and believe in energy healings which have helped with letting negative emotions go and visualizations.

Dr. W does recommend exercise too, so next up for me is more dancing!

Thanks so much Anonymous for the information. So glad to hear you are getting good results. Can you share with us what other supplements and tinctures he put you on?

Holly, sorry for the very delayed reply.
Three things to try that are not costly: Vitex, selenium, and apple pectin.

I have suffered from adenomyosis with severe cramps during and after my period. It was very painful and heavy bleeding and severe lower back pain my pain was unbearable to a point of being not able to move and a stabbing like pain on the left of my ovaries. Pain goes away when a clot comes out. But it took a while for the clot to come out. After several meetings with my gynaecologist which she suggested "laparoscopies" but I refused I know what laparoscopies is and how heart aching it can be then she stated that Allopathic treatment will help in pain management but it will not cure the disease. I started treatment with a drug named "endoheal 2 mg". This gave me pain relief but reduced my periods almost to no periods with numerous side effects - spotting and fluctuation in my dates. I was not mentally satisfied to bear the side effects so I came across ''Ayurvedic doctor" who started my treatment with herbs. Though I continued above drug 'endoheal 2 mg'" parallel for nine months for easy pain management. From then I continued taking the treatment. It reduced the size of my lesion but did not reduce it further after few months. And there was no relief in pain during menstruation but my Dr. Advised me to continue it during 3 months without any gap. I had noticed a quick ageing of my skin in the last 2 years. I am a smoker but for some reason I feel my quick ageing has to do with something else because I have been smoking for a long time and it's only recently that I noticed a fast decline of my skin elasticity. After then pain radiates very badly in my left leg, lower left back and left side of my vagina. The pain normally start anytime during 3, 5,6 days, but at time I had to take a painkiller for this also as it irritates whole day. Then pain disappears after fews day. My digestion was slow but Dr. Ronnie's supplements has improved it impossible situations is becoming possible miracles gradually.

I was lucky to read in the internet about a lady who was cured from Adenomyosis through Herbal Medication. I contacted Ronnie through an email address I got from a testimony shared on the internet. Without further delay I made an order, I switched over to it. I had great breakthrough, that in the first month, I was already testifying of the effective of the Herbal medication. After 3months course of taken the medicine, all symptoms were gone. It has been 1 year and four months since I became free from adenomyosis. Anyone who is not in my position would not understand what I went through, the heart break, the pain and how frustrated I was for 6 odd years. Believe me, it was hell. I am so happy; I never believed I will be this happy again in life. My story is quite lengthy, it might help you too. You may contact Dr. Ronnie to know more via his email on. ronniemd70@gmail.com
