Greetings I am 37 year old living in San Jose and I too have been suffering from uterine fibroids the last several years. I unfortunately (I did not know that there was goin to be scarring) had a myomectomy to remove them the first time but they grew back and I scarred my uterus. My partner and I have been trying of conceive for the last 6 years but the scarring and the fibroids have made it difficult. I have recently had the procedure that was supposed to shrink them and it worked and 9 months later I got pregnant but I miscarried and the fibroids grew back because of hormones from being pregnant. I have been doing accupunture with Chinese herbs for the last 3 months and I will admit that I was quite impatient and didn't believe that it would work; I have had a few pain free cycles and the bloat is down. I do not know if you were successful in you quest but if not there is a great community acupuncture place that is in Silicon valley I have tried a few other places and doctors but his the first place that has managed to figure out the problem and tackle it at the root. If you are interested I can give you the link, and if not many blessings on your quest because fibroids can be a bloody nightmare.Happy 2012

Hello ifeelyou
First of all, I'm so sorry to hear about all the difficulties that you have been having.
Glad to hear though that you have found someplace that seems to be tackling it at the root, yes would love to have the link so I can check them out. Thank you, and wishing you the best.

Hello! I have a large fibroid and was advised not to remove it for the same reasons Ifeelyou! listed. Thanks for sharing-- I feel better about making this choice.

For the past 4 months, I've also been doing acupuncture and TCM herbs. The results seem very promising and my cycles have definitely changed for the better. My TCM dr is an infertility specialist. I think that has a lot to do with my improvement because not all TCM drs know how to treat infertility and fibroids. He is located in SoCal and if you want his info, I'm happy to share it.
Good luck on your journey!

Hello CraftieGiraffe
Great to hear that you have found someone you like working with, and you are so right that not every TCM person is an infertility specialist so this is something important to look at when choosing. Please do share his name, as although I'm in N Cal it might be helpful to others (also I sometimes visit down there...)

Hi Anonymous,
I go to Mark Watan in San Mateo now. My husband goes to Anya Tyutyunik in Mountain View who I also go to sometimes and I think is very good, could be a good choice for you, (better to go to someone closer) and she also has a Mayan massage practitioner. I used to go to Rachel Schnayer in Mountain View but she is so good that she is very popular and her clinic is really hectic, but anyway you might want to consider her too. Wishing you the best and let me know how things go.
